History
Kokeile collective was formed in 2018 by four seasoned artists to fill the void of audiovisual performance arts in the region of Itä-Uusimaa. During 2018-2019 the collective organized four events in Porvoo by the name of Kokeile Festival: three clubs in the halls of an old movie theater, Vanha 123 and an outdoor performance as a part of Moon River Festival. All four events gathered a fair amount of spectators and the collective has acquired quite an enthusiastic following in their home town. The latest Kokeile festival was organized in February 2020, also at Vanha 123. Kokeile Festival has hosted a wide array of mostly Finnish audio, visual, audiovisual and performance artists. The festival is known for it’s open-minded approach towards styles of artistic impression as well as an interactive possibility for the audience of the festival to participate in free jamming sessions using an array of acoustic and electronic gadgets and instruments.
Kokeile collective has also performed as an audiovisual improvisation group in various events such as the Nou Paha festival (arranged in memoriam of culture persona Jocke Lybeck), the culture terrace of Salt, Porvoo Dreams festival, The jungle club at Vanha 123 and the latest rendition of Kokeile festival.
